Coleman started Rōm (pronounced roam) out of a love for the land by establishing new approaches to farming sustainably. Using regenerative practices, he aims to have healthy impacts on land for generations to come.

A lifetime appreciation for animals and nature, Coleman grew up on the back of a horse, becoming an accomplished polo player at a young age. After graduating from Clemson University with an Animal Science degree, and later from TCU in Ranch Management, Coleman spent 15 years working on various ranches across Wyoming, Texas, Hawaii, Montana, Colorado and Florida.  Through these experiences, his obsession for finding more environmentally friendly agriculture practices began.

Coleman now calls Rhode Island home with his wife, young daughter, and their menagerie of animals.  He is currently the livestock manager for a large university in New England.

Jicama

Rutabaga

Rutabaga

Jicama reminds us of an animal you would see on Safari.  Zebu, gazelle?  We've yet to identify said animal.  Either way, we think she's pretty cool looking.

Rutabaga

Rutabaga

Rutabaga

Rutie as we call her is a personal favorite in our household. My wife has claimed Rutie as "hers."

She arrived as a wee furry thing. Small yet mighty.

Potato

Rutabaga

Potato

On the good days, sweet potato.  Most other days, she's a potato head. Our resident escapee, Potato has had her fair share of adventures outside of the fence.  Grass is always greener, I guess?!

She comes with a warning label.

Fennel

Rutabaga

Potato

Another Sarfari animal lookalike.  We're not sure what, but we seem to call her Fennel the zebu.

Ginger

Marigold

Parsnip

Our little fawn lookalike. Ginger snap is actually named for the root, but she's really good at snipping and snapping those branches in your brush piles.

Parsnip

Marigold

Parsnip

Just like parsnips, she's sweet, earthy and occasionally spicy. She's really rockin' the pose, though.  Future goat model!?

Marigold

Marigold

Marigold

As a true Aries, Marigold is bold, energetic, passionate and competitive. She and Gabri are the leaders of the flock. She's also the most friendly, usually waiting at the fence line for some lovin'.

Chive

Marigold

Marigold

Always has a deer in headlights look, our little cheddar chive biscuit is a well loved member of the flock.

Basil

Turnip

Basil

Our resilient Basil. She seems to always be the one that requires doctoring of sorts. She's hard to miss in the flock.  You can spot her bald spots from miles away.

Gabri

Turnip

Basil

Like her "twin" Marigold, Gabri is friendly, gentle and always up for a head scratch.  Typically shy at first, she warms up in no time.

Turnip

Turnip

Turnip

Blurry, we know.  This might actually be Parsnip. It's hard to keep track.  New profile pic coming soon...

Radish

Turnip

Turnip

We don't have a picture of Radish yet. She's not one to have her photo taken.  In  the meantime, enjoy this photo of Gabri.

What Our Customers Are Saying...

Working with Coleman has been an incredible experience. He was incredibly professional and easy to work with. Initially, I had no idea what to expect when I contacted him about renting his goats. I had a lot of land that needed clearing and lacked knowledge about how much land goats can clear. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing job they accomplished. I highly recommend hiring RoM!! you won’t be disappointed!! 10 out of 10!!
